COMMUNITY PROGRAM CENTER ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES December 3, 2003 CALL TO ORDER The CPCAC December 3, 2003 meeting was called to order by Jeff Foster. ROLL CALL AND PLEDGE Mr. Foster calls the roll. Members Present: Ken Skelton, Jeff Foster, Chris McGreevy and Jerry Schrepfer Members Absent: Ted Bushelman, Betty Sander, Mark Spicer, Pam Mullins and Butch Hamm Also Present: Mr. Broering, TBNK Executive Director, and Mr. Bryan White, CPC Production Director CPC OPERATIONS REPORT Bryan White Reported: * Original programming hours is way up - August had the highest ever with 184 hours. Currently we are at 182% of goal at 2002 hours. * Equipment usage is steady - hope to see that pick up with the new DV decks and cameras. * Clip of Kenton County Library Folk Festival * Clip of Redwood Jam * Clip of Hitman of Magic Seminar * Clip of CEA Awards * Clip of CPC Sports - High School Football CPC REPORT * Cable in the classroom - training will be ongoing as well as technical support * Held a free director's workshop at the end of October and it was success. CPC plans on having other seminars/workshops in the future. * PD150 cameras are replacing the Panasonic 456 cameras. Producers are currently being trained on them and starting to take into the field. * Added mini DV decks to the AB Roll editing suites. * Blue Chip Award deadline -around beginning of February - look for more information to be posted. REPORT FROM TBNK * Master Control equipment - gotten some in, waiting on some. DVD players originally sent were wrong ones should be getting new ones soon. * Backlog of classes due to equipment changes - getting caught up with training producers on new equipment. * New Avid Adrenaline machine in edit - classes will begin soon. * Continuing to research for solution to replace aging hardware for bulletin board system and to upgrade software. * Annual shutdown December 26, 2003 thru January 11, 2004 * Jason Dudas covered the Villa Hills Haunted Trail. * Election coverage - live coverage at NKU debate; CSPAN II picked up and aired. * Working with Insight to fix problem with router - new controller card has been ordered. OLD BUSINESS * None NEW BUSINESS * Awards passed out to outgoing officers and members: o Ted Bushelman - Chairman o Betty Sander - Vice-Chairman o Jeff Foster - Secretary o Butch Hamm - member o Chris McGreevy - member * Annie has left TBNK/CPC. New secretary hired - Mindi Manz * Audio problem in Boone County. Not all channels are getting audio * During shutdown producers can bring in tapes. Telly Awards deadline is December 19. Axium Awards deadline is in January -need to apply online. CPCAC MEMBER COMMENTS * Jerry Schrepfer: Cable One - new bus is outfitted and operational. Anyone interested in learning how to broadcast live basketball games - looking for volunteers at Thomas Moore. * Jeff Foster: Thanks to CPC staff for great job they have been doing.
